Velocity MU Season 21 — silver dragon crest between an armored elf and dark knight

Choosing your character

Compare the MU character playstyles before choosing your first main.

Getting StartedUpdated Oct 2, 2026
On this page

Choose a character by the way you want to play: close combat, ranged attacks, magic or party support. A strong build is a combination of skills, equipment and sustained survival; a class name alone does not guarantee faster leveling or stronger PvP.

Character playstyles

Character What defines the class What to check first
Dark Knight Dark Knight Physical sword combat, with attacks for nearby groups and individual targets. Weapon compatibility, attack range and potion consumption.
Dark Wizard Dark Wizard Offensive spellcasting and positioning with spells such as Teleport. Spell requirements, mana use and safe casting distance.
Fairy Elf Fairy Elf Archery or a support role using healing and attack/defense buffs. Whether your plan is a damage build or a support build.
Magic Gladiator Magic Gladiator Access to both sword and magic approaches. Pick one primary skill direction before dividing points and buying equipment.
Dark Lord Dark Lord Scepter combat, party utility and class companions such as Dark Horse and Dark Raven. Command requirements where applicable, companion condition and skill selection.
Summoner Summoner Magic, curses and debuffs, with abilities such as Drain Life and Chain Lightning. The damage type of the chosen skill and the tradeoffs of self-buffs.
Rage Fighter Rage Fighter Martial combat with class-specific skills and equipment. Read each skill's requirements; different attacks do not necessarily scale alike.
Grow Lancer Grow Lancer Lance combat with offensive skills and party utility. Lance/shield setup and the requirements of your main attack.
Rune Wizard Rune Wizard Rune-based spellcasting with class-specific gear and skills. Use equipment intended for Rune Wizard, rather than assuming all mage gear fits.
Slayer Slayer Blade combat and class-specific attacks such as Bat Flock. Weapon and skill prerequisites before spending points.
Gun Crusher Gun Crusher Magic-gun attacks and class-specific equipment. A gun's appearance does not establish whether a skill uses physical or magic damage.
White Wizard / Kundun White Wizard / Kundun A distinct caster class with its own skills and equipment. Check the class printed on books and weapons before purchasing.
Mage / Lemuria Mage / Lemuria A separate magic class with its own progression. Verify equipment compatibility; it is not interchangeable with Kundun.
Illusion Knight Illusion Knight Illusion Blade combat and its own advancement path. Class-specific weapons and skill requirements.
Alchemist Alchemist Wand and elixir equipment with alchemy-based magic and party utility. Energy-related skill requirements and the correct secondary item.
Crusader Crusader Hammer-and-shield combat with light-themed abilities and party support. Shield compatibility, attack skills and support effects.

The creation screen shows which classes your account can currently create. This overview describes playstyles, not a ranking of Velocity's class balance or a promise that every class starts unlocked.

Choose a first build

  1. Decide whether you will mostly hunt alone or with a regular party.
  2. Pick a main attack you can learn and sustain with your available equipment.
  3. Read the weapon, armor and skill requirements before allocating points.
  4. Test a short hunt. Check deaths, potion use, mana or AG shortages and inventory growth.
  5. Improve the weakest part of that loop before moving to a harder map.

Damage and support are different jobs

A support Elf helps a party through active buffs and healing; judging that build only by its personal damage misses its purpose. Conversely, choosing a support-capable class does not automatically make every build a support build. Agree on roles with your party before committing to expensive upgrades.

Avoid these first-character mistakes

  • Buying an impressive weapon that your exact class cannot equip.
  • Splitting points between unrelated skills without a plan.
  • Following a PvP build when your immediate goal is reliable monster hunting.
  • Assuming another server's stat distribution will behave identically here.
