Socket equipment contains slots for compatible Seed Spheres. An empty socket is upgrade potential; it does not already provide the effect you plan to insert.
The basic workflow
The traditional system involves making a Seed, combining it with a Sphere to create a Seed Sphere, and mounting the result into compatible equipment. Use the Seed NPC's current menus to inspect the exact ingredients and supported operations.
Choose an option for your build
Read the complete effect and compatibility description. Offensive and defensive equipment do not accept every option interchangeably. An increase to a damage type you do not use can be less valuable than a smaller bonus that benefits every attack in your routine.
Before mounting
- Check the equipment's available socket and existing contents.
- Verify the Seed Sphere is compatible with the target item.
- Read its level and exact option, including any condition.
- Consider the complete combination you want, rather than filling slots at random.
- Check the mounting cost and confirmation before proceeding.
Replacement and upgrades
Inspect the removal/replacement operation before using it. Do not assume the old component will be returned or that an upgrade preserves all previous effects. Socket counts, option values and supported levels must come from the actual item and Velocity's current settings.
Buying socket equipment
Compare the fitted item with the cost of an empty item plus its components. A seller's description such as “full socket” does not identify the actual options. Hover over every line and evaluate the complete setup.
